On the final day of American Education Week, the focus turns to a vital group in the education family, one that is often overlooked: Substitute educators. Substitute Educators Day aims to shine the spotlight on the hard work substitute educators do on short notice, sometimes under difficult circumstances. But the day is also intended to raise awareness about the need to offer professional pay and increase professional development opportunities for substitute educators.
