Substitute Educators Day aims to shine the spotlight on the hard work substitute educators do on short notice, sometimes under difficult circumstances. But the day is also intended to raise awareness about the need to offer professional pay and increase professional development opportunities for substitute educators. Without progress in these areas, we will continue to see shortages of substitute educators across the state.
