The WEA offers training and support for members pursuing certification.
The new numbers from OSPI are in and Washington continues to be a top five state in National Board Certified Teachers. With 87 newly certified NBCTs and 271 candidates completing their renewal Washington now has 8,701 NBCTs, ranking fourth in the nation.
Washington by the numbers
- Number of new NBCTs in 2016: 87
- Number of renewed certificates in 2016: 271
- Total number of NBCTs: 8,701 (national rank: 4th)
- Fifteen percent of all Washington’s teachers are NBCTs
